Core values
Tailor-made curricula
Our curricula are tailor-made to integrate the philosophical, social, cultural and psychological aspects of our society so that learning becomes meaningful and interesting. In addition, our quality-controlled teaching takes into consideration the depth and breath of students’ learning experience. Whilst the depth reinforces the foundation and the development of language skills, the breath encompasses tasks necessary for professional development. The integration of workshops in the curricula helps encourage and improve students’ oral and written skills. They are designed toward legitimate connections between knowledge and practice.
IT
One of the most innovative characteristics of The English Lab is the use of IT with excellent language software in every session. Each student is assigned his or her own computer with specially selected software and a password for online accessibility. Synchronous development of both grammatical and receptive skills is assured through the adoption and incorporation of IT and theoretical lessons.
Teaching style
Our teachers adopt a highly interactive teaching style so that students are encouraged to take in information, look for connections, interpret and make sense of what is taught. Unlike early teaching methods, The English Lab seeks to build students’ confidence in speaking English even within the realm of each session.
Teaching staff
Our teaching staff are dedicated to learners’ success. The English Lab employs qualified teachers with at least a bachelor degree in Education, English or related fields together with substantial teaching experience. Our Pedagogical Council is composed of three qualified language teachers who have the experience in designing curricula that addresses effectively to learners’ needs. To ensure learning progress, The English Lab conducts monthly appraisals on teaching and learning performances through benchmarks, and provides opportunities for teachers to attend professional development seminars and training procedures.
