May 16, 2007 5:06 pm Upcoming CoursesThe Helen O’ Grady International English Drama is a self-development program that was first taught by Helen O’ Grady in 1979 in The Helen O’ Grady Children’s Drama Academy. With more than 150 branches currently operating worldwide and spanning 26 countries, the Academy has become the largest organization of its kind in the world.
The Helen O’ Grady International English Drama is currently used by many mainstream schools (as in-school curriculum and extra-curricular activity) and centers in Macau. It is a 13-year program and so learners can stay in the program for 13 years without repeating a single lesson. A carefully constructed and progressive drama syllabus is designed to capture the imagination of children of all ages. A lot of dramatic elements encompassing a huge body of developmental drama activities such as improvisation, impromptu conversations etc. are incorporated to help stimulate learners’ interests in learning English, accept new challenges and explore new directions. The curriculum also taps into the natural interests that children have and channel them to develop confidence and self-esteem, and increase verbal skills. Such life-long skills are also extended through our annual overseas tour drama which allows learners to perform and exchange their perspectives with drama students abroad. Special achievement certificates are awarded to all learners as they complete each full year at the centre.
Date of commencement: 23 February 2008
