This course is designed to help learners improve their communication competency and succeed in Macao’s growing demand for English conversational skill. The two key objectives are:
Ø to develop techniques in five key areas of communication including presenting ideas and projects, negotiating, telephoning, chairing meetings and socializing.
Ø to develop the knowledge of the language used in the above-mentioned areas.
This course can also be customized to learners’ needs and can be designed for a small group of executives. The content will be tailored to address learners’ everyday English for business communication needs based on their job-specific language and vocabulary. This is a very popular course!.

Pre-requisite: Intermediate level This course is designed for doctors, medical students and other medical professionals who have to use English to communicate with patients and their relatives. It aims to develop speaking and listening skills primarily but attention is also given to reading skills particularly with reference to updated journal articles. Practice is also provided in writing referral letters and completing a range of medical documents. In this course, learners will start with the English needed for consultations and continue with examinations – both general and specialized. Then, learners will acquire the language required to discuss investigations, diagnoses and treatment. Finally, learners will examine the English for treatment – medical, surgical and physiotherapy.

This course is especially designed for serving police officers or people who are interested in joining the law enforcement agencies. By the end of this course, learners will be able to expand their knowledge on vocabulary that are necessary for everyday communication, develop their speaking and listening skills for a variety of domains, develop their reading and writing skills, and general grammatical knowledge. In addition, learners will be able to:
- communicate by telephone, fax, e-mail and formal letter on a routine basis
- attend and actively participate in conferences on general law enforcement matters and their areas of specialization
- present at above conferences
- attend and participate in meetings with counterparts
- participate in social events and maintain relationships with contacts using English
- make and respond to queries for specific information and help
- read and understand complex reports and academic articles in their field in English
- give and support their opinion and express their personal and professional attitude towards issues of interest

This course is for learners who want to reduce their accent when speaking English thereby making themselves understood. This course covers a wide range of topics including staircase intonation, rhythm, word connections, pronunciation to name a few. A variety of exercises are also incorporated in this course to allow the learners to practice the necessary skills for effective accent training.

This program is especially designed to equip casino croupiers, supervisors and pit managers with the English language skills necessary for effective interactions in the workplace.
